Hi, I’m Jonathan.
This is me and my Mom pictured to the right, and that’s my dog, Emi, below. I started this blog as a way to preserve food memories and favorite recipes for my children, nieces, and nephews. I wanted to give them something to look back on — a guide to embracing food, learning to cook, and understanding the stories behind food.
My mom taught me how to enjoy food from a young age. Everything tastes better with a mixture of minced garlic, ginger, salt, and oil. Now, I add chili crisp to everything. My mom wasn’t able to leave me with recipes or her kitchen wisdom. This blog is also a documentation of my journey to learn the things I wish she’d had the chance to teach me herself.
This space is where I share my own journey: learning to love food, cooking, and other things that come with life.
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
