The Price of Good Food

Kids, good food can be at all three different price points: $, $$, and $$$. Starting September 2016, I was hooked on this TV show called Worth It. The premise of the show is a guy named Steven showing his friend Andrew to restaurants of a certain food item at three drastically different price points. At the end, they chose their favorites.

Honestly, daddy feels sad that he missed the bandwagon of making money while eating yummy food.

I have recently started to binge the show over again. I have enjoyed taking a different perspective in watching. I find myself rooting on the $ or $$. I think that the younger me would have thought the $$$ is always the best. Why else would they charge $$$? Now, I know that it isn’t just the cost that determines good food. And, also, I noticed inflation. The show is based in LA and prices have doubled since then. My paycheck has not.

I feel that my world of food has expanded so much since then. I don’t want to pay $ anymore. Well, because $ doesn’t really exist anymore. Either they have to change the money amounts. Or, the groups should be $$, $$$, and $$$$ now. But, the reasoning behind not paying for $ anyone is because I can, in general, make $ food and maybe in some cases $$ food. The more that I’m able to cook, the higher standards I have for restaurants.

Moral of the story: Inflation exists. So, start investing. Good food doesn’t have to be expensive. But, expensive food has to be good for you to be paying those dollars.

Kensie says your blog has strayed from the original purpose of talking about making food!

Lol. This is what I wrote in my intro “This space is where I share my own journey: learning to love food, cooking, and other things that come with life.” So, I haven’t strayed away. 🙂 This falls in the “learning to love food” category.
